Getting there

Car

If you are traveling by car, start from the main entrance of Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve, which is located near the town of Sucumbíos. Head southeast on the E45 highway towards Shushufindi. After approximately 30 km, turn left onto the road that leads to the Redondo Cocha area. Follow the signs toward Laguna Lagartococha. Continue on this road for about 15 km until you reach the coordinates CQ34+HFF. Parking may be limited, so be prepared to park on the roadside.

Public Transportation

For public transportation, take a bus from Lago Agrio to Shushufindi. The journey takes about 1 hour and costs approximately $1. Once in Shushufindi, you will need to hire a taxi or a shared van to Redondo Cocha. The taxi ride will cost around $20 and takes about 30 minutes. Ask the driver to take you to the coordinates CQ34+HFF for Laguna Lagartococha. Ensure that you confirm the fare before starting the journey.
