If you are starting from the main town in Northern Sierra such as Otavalo, you will first need to drive south on the Pan-American Highway (E35) towards Quito. After reaching Quito, continue southwest on E28 for about 30 kilometers until you reach the town of Santo Domingo. From Santo Domingo, follow the signs to the coastal region and take the E20 road towards El Carmen. Once you reach El Carmen, take the road towards La Concordia, and from there, head to the coastal town of Esmeraldas. After reaching Esmeraldas, look for signs directing you to the ferry terminal that goes to Isla Floreana. Make sure to check the ferry schedule in advance, as there are limited departures. The ferry will take you directly to Puerto Flores on Isla Floreana, where Punta Cormorant is located. The total driving distance is approximately 200 kilometers, and consider that fuel costs may vary.

To reach Punta Cormorant using public transportation, start at a major bus terminal in Northern Sierra, such as the Terminal Terrestre in Otavalo. Take a bus headed to Quito (approximately 2 hours). From Quito, you will need to transfer to another bus heading to Santo Domingo (about 2 hours). Once in Santo Domingo, look for buses heading towards the coastal area, specifically to El Carmen (1.5 hours). After reaching El Carmen, take local transport or a taxi to the ferry terminal for Isla Floreana. Ferries to Puerto Flores operate regularly, but check the schedule ahead of time as they may vary. Once you arrive at Puerto Flores, Punta Cormorant is accessible by a short walk or local transport. The total costs for buses can range from $10-$20, while ferry tickets to Isla Floreana may cost around $30.
