Walking
From the main square (Plaza de los Ponchos) in Otavalo, head southeast on Calle Sucre towards Calle Roca. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Avenida 31 de Octubre. Turn right on Avenida 31 de Octubre and walk for about 15 minutes. You will pass several shops and local eateries along the way. Continue straight until you see the signs for Laguna de San Pablo. The lake is located on your left-hand side.
Local Bus
From Plaza de los Ponchos, walk to the bus stop located at Avenida 31 de Octubre. Look for a bus heading towards 'Laguna de San Pablo' or 'San Pablo'. The bus ride will take approximately 20-30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Laguna de San Pablo stop, disembark and follow the path leading directly to the lake. It's a short walk from the bus stop to the lake.
Taxi
You can take a taxi from anywhere in Otavalo to Laguna de San Pablo. Simply ask your hotel or any local to call a taxi for you. Make it clear that you want to go to 'Laguna de San Pablo'. The taxi ride should take around 10-15 minutes depending on traffic. Make sure to agree on a fare before getting in if the taxi is not metered.
