From the Plaza Foch area, head south on Avenida Colon for 10 blocks until you reach Avenida 6 de Diciembre. Turn left on Avenida 6 de Diciembre and walk for about 5 blocks until you reach the intersection with Avenida Patria. Continue on Avenida Patria until you reach the intersection with Avenida 10 de Agosto. Turn left onto Avenida 10 de Agosto and walk straight for about 6 blocks until you reach the historic center of Quito. Once you're in the historic center, ask for directions to Independence Square, located at the intersection of Venezuela and García Moreno streets.
Public Transport (Trolebus)
Locate the nearest Trolebus station (Trolebus Line 1) to your current position. Board the Trolebus heading towards 'El Ejido'. Change at the 'Calle 18 de Septiembre' station to the Trolebus Line 2 towards 'La Ofelia'. Get off at 'El Ejido' and walk south for about 8 blocks until you reach the historic center. Ask locals for directions to Independence Square, which is situated at the intersection of Venezuela and García Moreno streets.
