The Monumento a la Independencia is located in the Plaza Grande in Quito's Centro Histórico. From most points in the historic center, it is easily accessible by foot. From the Iglesia de la Compañía de Jesús, walk approximately 8 blocks west. The monument is in the center of the Plaza.
Public Transport
Quito's public transportation system offers several options to reach the Plaza Grande. The Trolebús, Ecovía, and Metrobus all have stops near the Plaza. The closest Metro station is San Francisco, about 400 meters away. A single ride on any of these systems costs $0.25 - $0.45.
