Getting There

  • Ferry

    The most common way to reach Isabela Island is by ferry from Santa Cruz Island. Ferries depart from the Gus Angermeyer Pier in Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz. There are typically two sailings daily, around 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM. The ferry trip takes approximately 2 hours and costs $35-$45 per person. Upon arrival at Puerto Villamil, a water taxi to the pier costs $1 per person, and there is a $10 pier tax. Shared taxis into town are available for $1-2 per person.

    Puerto Villamil is a small town that is easily navigable on foot. From the pier, it's about a 20-minute walk into the center of town. Taxis from the pier to hotels in town should cost no more than $2.
