Car
If you are driving, start your journey in the city of Zamora. Head west on the E45 highway towards the town of Yacuambi. Continue for about 30 kilometers. After passing Yacuambi, watch for signs directing you to La Poderosa. You will turn onto a gravel road (V2F4+M27 coordinates). It's advisable to drive a 4x4 vehicle as the road may be rough. Follow the signs until you reach the cascading waterfall. Keep in mind that parking is available near the entrance.
Public Transportation
To reach Cascada La Poderosa using public transport, take a bus from Zamora to Yacuambi. Buses leave regularly from the main terminal in Zamora. The fare is approximately $2. After arriving in Yacuambi, you can either take a taxi or look for local transport heading towards the waterfall area. It's about a 15-minute taxi ride from Yacuambi to the entrance of the waterfall. The taxi fare should be around $5. Make sure to confirm the taxi fare before starting your journey.
Hiking
For the more adventurous tourists, you can hike to Cascada La Poderosa from the nearest road access point after being dropped off by taxi. The hike is approximately 3 kilometers and takes about 1 hour. The trail is relatively well-marked, but it is advisable to wear sturdy hiking shoes and carry water. The path will lead you through beautiful rainforest scenery, culminating at the stunning waterfall.
