We are a family that loves adventure and this trip was perfect. The Abu Simbel temples are an early start but so worth it. It's a real adventure. The history is mind-boggling. Our guide, Mohand, was amazing, so full of knowledge. The atmosphere was exciting. It was crowded, but you expect that at such a famous place. The ship, the Amwaj, was a great base. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable. The food was great, a good mix of local and international. It's a trip for families who want to see the best of Egypt. The whole experience was an adventure from start to finish. We made memories that will last a lifetime.

We hired Captain Fish Fluke (on TripAdvisor) to sail us on his traditional Felucca “Don’t Worry” down the Nile from Aswan. We had such a great experience and enjoyed it immensely. The sail was for over an hour. The crew were fun and very friendly. The captain helped my husband (with quick tuition) to sail the Felucca back. It was a great experience and can highly recommend.

Kitschy audio but fabulous temple, especially lit up at night

Seeing the temple at night, especially coming up to it by boat while it was lit up, was a breathtaking experience. And Mina, our driver, was professional and very helpful. He arrived early and was waiting for us in the hotel lobby at the appointed time. His car was Immaculate and roomy, and on the way he stopped so I could go to an ATM. We were a little late to the boat landing because of stopping at the ATM, but he negotiated to have a boat immediately meet us, and we were the only ones on that boat and probably the last boat to get to the island. The audio for the show was melodramatic and hard hard to follow. The only part that was interesting enough to hold my attention was the latter part when we were sitting. It was interesting to hear of the relationship of the temple to various periods in time. Seeing the temple at night, however, is a must-see event. It is such a beautiful, well preserved Temple and it really shines, no pun intended, under their lighting. I would definitely recommend doing this tour, especially with Mina as your driver.
