Getting there

Taxi

From Aswan International Airport (ASW), take a taxi to the city center. Taxis are readily available outside the airport terminal. The ride to the city center typically takes 30-45 minutes. A 5km ride will cost approximately 27.5 EGP. Negotiate the fare beforehand, as taxis usually don't use meters.

Public Transport

To reach Elephantine Island, take the public ferry from the ferry dock across from KFC. The ferry costs 10 EGP per person and departs every 15 minutes. Note that men and women typically sit separately on the ferry.

Walking

Many of Aswan's attractions are located along the Nile waterfront and are easily accessible by walking. Stroll along the Kornish Al Nile to enjoy the views and access various sites. Walking is a great way to experience the city's atmosphere.
