To reach the Monastery of St. Simeon, begin by taking a boat from Aswan to the west bank of the Nile. Several boat operators can be found along the Corniche or at the docks. Negotiate the fare before departure; a round trip should cost approximately 150 EGP. From the west bank, it's a walk up a mostly paved desert track to the monastery. Alternatively, you can hire a camel for around 150 EGP for a ride to the top.

Another option is to take a taxi from Aswan to near the Aga Khan Mausoleum on the west bank. From there, walk along the mostly paved desert track towards the Monastery of St. Simeon. Taxi fares in Aswan start at 3.30 EGP per kilometer. A short taxi ride from the center of Aswan to the west bank may cost around 28-47 EGP. Be sure to negotiate the fare with the driver beforehand.
