Thanks to Waleed Elsamman, our tour guide, this trip was absolutely Amazing. It was such a pleasure learning so much from Waleed, he was extremely versed in each of the tours from the High Dam to the Tombs. His passion about his country (ancient Egypt to now) is so apparent and appreciated. Waleed was so patient and answered all our questions and showed us the most amazing things from each tour. There were many things that started off as negatives. First and foremost was the fact my credit cards did not seem to be excepted in Egypt but worked in ATMs. Second, it is expected to tip for everything but nothing really is there to guide you as to what is fair or not in the tipping process. Third, everybody, and I mean everybody, wants your money, everyone will try and sell you their goods and you will feel absolutely pressured everywhere you turn. Fourth, things go wrong In every trip, family gets sick etc...on this one it was me. So this is where a professional tour guide can really shine and Waleed Elsamman was the BEST. Waleed helped me find the ATMs, and walked with me for each trip, ensuring my safety and comfort. Waleed explained the tipping process to us and ensured we were not being taken advantage of. Waleed also ensured during each tour that none of the vendors crowded or pressured us, he especially stepped up for my wife and kids! I got ill during one of the tours and Waleed met me with medication to help, going way above and beyond the call of duty! I was back on my feet the next day, and he continued checking up on me and my family through the day. Now I do not know how other tour guides are in Egypt but for the Nile Cruise you should definitely look to ensure Waleed is your guide! When we traveled back to Cairo our driver was not at the pickup point and my phone could only make calls ( no data). I phoned Waleed and he squared everything away (even after his tour was over he still picked up the phone and ensured we were safe). The trip itself was amazing but Waleed made sure it was Magical for me and my Family! Thank you so much Waleed 20 🌟 out of 5 does not say enough!.
