8 Day of Egypt Tour Pyramids Cruise and Hot Air Balloon

Egyptian Museum In Tahrir Still Has Soul

Everyone talks about GEM now and yes it is impressive. But the old Egyptian Museum in Tahrir still holds a special kind of chaos that I actually enjoyed. It is crowded dusty and the lighting is bad. But you can touch things you are not supposed to touch and get closer to the artifacts than anywhere else. I saw the golden masks up close without thick glass barriers. Our guide said this museum feels like a storage room and that is its charm. The admission fee was small and included in the tour. I spent two hours and twenty minutes there. The atmosphere is chaotic and loud. The crowd was packed around the King Tut gallery. The staff were old school and some were grumpy but I found it authentic. Best for travelers who want the old Cairo experience.

Two days Luxor with the balloon from Hurghada

Son asked about the mummies

My son asked our guide about the mummies in the Valley of the Kings. He wanted to know how they were preserved. Our guide Nabila explained the process in simple terms. The hot air balloon ride was incredible and he saw the valley from above. We visited Karnak and he was amazed by the columns. The second day we visited Luxor Temple and he asked more questions. The drive from Hurghada was long but he slept in the van. The hotel had a pool and he swam in the evening. The whole two days were educational and fun for him. Admission fee was reasonable for the package. Length of visit was two days. Atmosphere was curious and educational. Crowd size was about 14 people in our group. Staff were great with children. Best for families with curious boys. Yasser had given him a mummy book.
