The Statue of Abdul Moniem Riad, a prominent landmark in Port Said, commemorates General Abdul Moniem Riad, an Egyptian military leader who served as the Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces. Riad is highly regarded for his command during the 1967 Six-Day War and the War of Attrition. He was killed in action in 1969 and posthumously awarded Egypt's highest military decoration.
