Dendera and Abydos Temples Day Tour from Luxor

Photographers paradise at Dendera and Abydos

I am a photographer and this tour was a dream for me. The light at Dendera in the morning is perfect for photos. I captured the zodiac ceiling and the crypts which have amazing textures. We spent almost four hours there because I kept finding new angles. My guide was patient and even helped me carry my equipment. The staff from the tour company understood my needs and gave me extra time. The crowd was small so I could shoot without people in my frames. The atmosphere was inspiring and creative. This is best for photographers who want to capture ancient art. The admission fee was worth it for the access alone. After Dendera we went to Abydos where the carvings are so detailed they look like they were made yesterday. I filled two memory cards with photos. The lunch was a nice break and the family running it was welcoming. I cannot recommend this tour enough for fellow photographers.

Relaxed tour with competent guide

Our tour operator had offered a slightly cheaper group tour by minibus, but the private day tour to Dendera & Abydos was the right decision! We have booked online through Memnon. Communication via WhatsApp was unproblematic - we got all the information we needed. The organizer insisted on a cash payment. There were two of us and we were picked up at the hotel in a Toyota Corolla. Since the journey takes quite a long time (around four hours from our hotel), the journey in a car was far more relaxed than it would have been in a minibus. The guide, Markus, explained the two temples and the backgrounds well in German and was able to answer our questions competently. Lunch before the return trip was also pleasant. The two temples are definitely worth seeing - not only because of the "bulb" and the "helicopter".
