Public Transport
From San Salvador, take route 205 bus towards Sonsonate. Get off at Terminal de Sonsonate and transfer to route 209 bus, which goes directly to the entrance of Cerro Verde. Alternatively, take route 20 bus from San Salvador to Santa Ana, then transfer to route 209. The bus fare from Coatepeque to San Salvador is approximately $1.50. The bus fare to Cerro Verde is around $0.75. Total travel time is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.

Car
From San Salvador, drive on the highway to Sonsonate (CA-8) and take the Desvío El Congo. Pass through the town of San Isidro, and then find the detour to Cerro Verde, also known as Desvío “El Pacún”. Take the detour, and you're there. From Lake Coatepeque, head southeast on the CA-1 highway. Continue for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach the junction for the CA-8 road towards Cerro Verde. Turn left onto CA-8 and follow the signs for Parque Nacional Cerro Verde. The park entrance will be on your left after about 15 kilometers. Parking fee is $1.

From the bus stop near Parque Nacional Cerro Verde, follow the signs leading into the park. The entrance is approximately a 10-minute walk from the bus stop.
