Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Dekemhare, start at the main market area (known locally as Suq). Head south on the main street, which is lined with shops and restaurants. Continue straight for about 15 minutes until you reach the intersection with a larger road. At this intersection, look for directional signs pointing towards parks or recreational areas. Turn left and continue for another 10 minutes, passing by the local school and a few small cafes. After you cross a small bridge, you will see a sign for Jiraferi ጂራፌሪ. Follow the path leading up to the park entrance.

• Bicycle

  If you have access to a bicycle, rent one from a local shop near the center of Dekemhare. Begin your ride from the main square, heading south. Bike along the main road for approximately 20 minutes. You will pass a few notable landmarks including the local library and the community center. Once you reach the intersection where the larger road is, turn left. Continue cycling straight until you see the entrance to Jiraferi ጂራፌሪ, which will be on your right after you cross the small bridge.

• Public Transport

  While public transport options can be limited, you can take a local minibus from Dekemhare's main transport hub, which is located near the market. Look for a minibus heading towards the Dekemhare parks area. The ride should take about 15-20 minutes. Get off when you see the sign for Jiraferi ጂራፌሪ. From there, it's a short walk of about 5 minutes to the entrance of the park.
