From Asmara, drive towards the Gash-Barka Region. Take the main road heading towards Barentu. After approximately 80 km, you will reach the town of Barentu. From Barentu, continue on the main road for about 45 km until you reach the junction for Berakit-Abay. Turn left at the junction and follow the road for about 15 km until you arrive at Berakit Abay. Ensure you have a reliable map or GPS as road signs might be limited.

From Asmara, take a bus or shared taxi to Barentu. The journey takes about 2 hours and costs approximately 50 Nakfa. Upon reaching Barentu, you can find shared taxis heading towards Berakit-Abay. These taxis leave once full and the fare is around 30 Nakfa per person. The ride should take approximately 30 minutes. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they are going to Berakit-Abay.
