From the center of Mendefera, start at the main market square where you will see vendors and shops. Head towards the main road (the one that leads out of the town) and follow it north. Continue walking straight for about 3 kilometers until you reach the outskirts of Mendefera. Here, you will begin to notice signs pointing towards Asmara.
