Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the center of Hiiumaa, specifically from Kärdla. Head west on Tallinna mnt (Route 10) for approximately 16 km. Continue onto Kassari road (local road) for about 8 km until you reach Kassari village. Once in Kassari, follow the signs to Sääre tirp, which is located at the southern tip of the island. The drive will take around 30 minutes depending on traffic and road conditions.
Public Transportation
To reach Sääre tirp via public transportation, take a bus from Kärdla to Kassari village. Buses run regularly, but it is advisable to check the current schedule on the Estonian public transport website. Once you arrive in Kassari village, you may need to walk about 2 km to reach Sääre tirp. Look for local signage or ask locals for directions; it's a scenic route through the village leading to the southern shore.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle in Kärdla and take the same route as for the car. The ride to Kassari village is approximately 24 km one way and can take around 1.5 hours. Walking
For those who enjoy hiking, you can walk from Kassari village to Sääre tirp. The distance is about 2 km and takes approximately 30 minutes. Follow the main road south until you reach the coastline. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water, as there are no facilities along the way.
