Getting There

  • Bus

    From Kuressaare City Centre, head to the bus station located at Tallinna mnt 1. Take the bus heading towards Kaali. Buses typically run several times a day, so check the schedule in advance. The journey to Kaali will take approximately 30-40 minutes. After arriving at the Kaali bus stop, you will need to walk about 1 kilometer to reach the Kaali kraater. Head west along the main road (Kaali Road), then turn left onto Järv Road, following the signs to the Kaali crater. The crater is well marked and you will see it on your right.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the shops in Kuressaare. Head out of the city center towards the main road (Tallinna mnt) and follow the road signs directing you to Kaali. The distance is approximately 8 kilometers, and the ride takes about 30-40 minutes. Follow the same route as the bus, heading towards Kaali, and once you reach the village, follow the signs to the crater.

  • Walking

    Walking to Kaali kraater from Kuressaare is quite a trek as it’s around 8 kilometers away. Start your journey from the city center, heading towards the main road (Tallinna mnt). Follow this road out of Kuressaare, and after about 2 kilometers, you will see a sign directing you to Kaali. Continue straight, and after approximately 6 kilometers, you will enter the village of Kaali. Once in the village, ask locals for directions or follow signs to the crater, which is located about 1 kilometer from the village center.
