Walking
Start at the Kärdla city center, near the Kärdla Town Hall. Head southeast on Pikk Street until you reach the intersection with Lasteaia Street. Turn left onto Lasteaia Street and continue straight until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Kooli Street. Continue walking until you reach the bus stop at the end of Kooli Street. From there, take the local bus heading towards Kukka. The bus will take you closer to Kukka, and you can disembark at the nearest stop. After getting off, walk towards Matsi-Laasi and follow the path leading to Kukka tuulik.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Kärdla. Once you have your bicycle, head towards the main road leading out of Kärdla. Follow the signs for Kukka, which is approximately 6 km from the city center. The route will take you along scenic paths and through beautiful countryside. Make sure to stay on the designated bike lanes where available. When you arrive in Kukka, look for signs directing you to Kukka tuulik, which is located in Matsi-Laasi. Follow the path until you reach the windmill.
Public Transport
From Kärdla, head to the local bus station located near the city center. Check the bus schedule for routes heading towards Kukka. There are usually several bus services throughout the day. Once you are on the bus, stay seated until you reach the Kukka stop. After disembarking, follow the signs to Matsi-Laasi. It’s a short walk from the bus stop to Kukka tuulik, where you can enjoy the view of the historical landmark.
