If you are traveling by car, start by navigating to Lääne County's capital, Haapsalu. From Haapsalu, take the E20 highway towards Pärnu. After approximately 30 kilometers, take the exit towards Kärdla/Tallinn. This will lead you to Route 10. Continue on Route 10 until you reach the town of Pärnu. Once in Pärnu, follow signs for the E67 highway (Tallinn-Pärnu-Ikla) and continue north. After around 80 kilometers, take the exit towards Saaremaa. Follow the signs to Kuressaare and then towards the ferry terminal where you can take a ferry to the island of Saaremaa. The ferry ride will take about 30 minutes. Once on Saaremaa, follow the signs towards the M/S Estonia memorial site, located at Saaristotie 5858, Pargas, Finland. Note that a ferry ticket is required, and prices vary depending on the vehicle type.

For those using public transportation, start at the Haapsalu bus station. Take a bus to Pärnu; this journey typically takes about 1 hour. Once in Pärnu, transfer to a bus heading to Kuressaare. This leg of the trip may take approximately 2 hours. After arriving in Kuressaare, you will need to take a taxi to the ferry terminal to board the ferry to Saaremaa. The ferry ride to the mainland takes around 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the ferry terminal on the mainland, you can take a taxi or use local bus services to reach the memorial site at Saaristotie 5858, Pargas, Finland.
