From anywhere in Saare County, head towards the main roads leading to the mainland. If you're starting from Kuressaare, take the road leading to the Saaremaa ferry terminal. Take the ferry from Kuivastu to Virtsu (approximately 30 minutes, ticket cost around €10 for a car and driver). Once you arrive in Virtsu, follow the signs towards Haapsalu on the E263 highway. Continue on E263 for about 50 km until you reach Haapsalu. Upon entering Haapsalu, follow the signs to the city center and then to Lossiplats 3, where Haapsalu Castle is located.
Public Transportation

If you prefer public transportation, start by taking a bus from Kuressaare to Tallinna. The bus ride typically takes around 2 hours. From Tallinna, head to the Tallinna bus station and catch a bus to Haapsalu. The bus ride from Tallinna to Haapsalu takes about 1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Haapsalu, you can either walk or take a local taxi to Lossiplats 3, which is about a 15-minute walk (1.2 km) from the bus station.
