Car
If you're driving from Kuressaare, the capital of Saaremaa, take the road towards Vilsandi. Head northwest on Tallinna mnt/Route 10 for about 20 kilometers. Follow the signs for Vilsandi National Park and continue straight until you reach the ferry terminal at Kihnu. Here, you'll need to pay a ferry fee, which is approximately €5 per vehicle. Board the ferry, which departs regularly, and enjoy the scenic ride to Vilsandi Island. Once you arrive, follow the signs to Vilsandi lighthouse, which is about a 2.5 km walk from the ferry landing.
Public Transportation
To reach Vilsandi lighthouse via public transport, start your journey at Kuressaare bus station. Take a bus towards the town of Orissaare. From Orissaare, you may need to take a taxi to the Kihnu ferry terminal, as public transport options are limited. The taxi ride will cost around €10-€15. Once at the terminal, pay the ferry fee of approximately €5 per person and board the ferry to Vilsandi Island. After arriving, follow the signs for a 2.5 km walk to the lighthouse.
Bicycle
For those who enjoy cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Kuressaare. Start your ride on Route 10 heading towards Vilsandi. The route is about 20 km long and takes you through beautiful countryside.
