If you are in the Old Town, start at the Town Hall Square (Raekoja Plats). Head east on Pikk Street (Pikk tänav) until you reach the intersection with Estonia Street (Estonia pst). Turn left onto Estonia Street and continue walking for about 10 minutes. You will see the Estonian National Opera on your right at Estonia pst 4.

From the Old Town, walk to the nearest tram stop, 'Vabaduse väljak'. Catch tram number 1 or 3 heading towards 'Tondi' or 'Kopli'. After 3 stops, get off at 'Tallinna Ülikool' tram stop. From there, it's a short 5-minute walk: head down the street towards Estonia pst and turn left. The Estonian National Opera will be on your right at Estonia pst 4.
