Starting from Kalamaja, head southeast towards the main road, Põhja pst. Walk along Põhja pst until you reach the intersection with Vabaduse väljak. You will see the tall, prominent statue at Freedom Square as you approach. Make sure to walk on the pedestrian pathways for safety. The distance is approximately 1.5 km and should take about 15-20 minutes.

From Kalamaja, walk to the nearest tram stop, which is on the corner of Põhja pst and Kopli Street. Catch tram number 1 or 2 towards the city center. Depart at the 'Vabaduse väljak' stop. Freedom Square is just a short walk from the tram stop. This journey costs around €2 for a single ticket, which you can purchase from a ticket machine or online.

If you have access to a bike, you can ride from Kalamaja to Freedom Square. Head towards the waterfront and follow the bike paths along the coast. After about 1.5 km, you will reach Freedom Square.
