If you're starting from the Viljandi town square (Raekoja plats), head northeast on Tartu Street (Tartu mnt) and walk straight for about 500 meters. You will pass several shops and cafes along the way. Continue until you reach Vabaduse plats, which will be on your right. Look for the large open space and the prominent monument in the center.
