If you are driving from Viljandi to Tartu, start by heading northeast on the main road, Route 2 (E263). Continue on this route for approximately 70 kilometers. You will pass through the small towns of Karksi-Nuia and Mõisaküla. As you approach Tartu, follow the signs for the city center. Once in Tartu, navigate towards Raekoja Plats, which is the location of the Tartu 2024 landmark. There is public parking available nearby, but check for any parking fees that may apply.

To reach Tartu from Viljandi using public transport, head to the Viljandi bus station. Purchase a ticket for a bus heading to Tartu; several buses operate daily. The journey takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Upon arrival at the Tartu bus station, exit the station and walk towards the city center, following Turu Street. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer to reach Raekoja Plats, where the Tartu 2024 landmark is located.

Currently, there is no direct train service between Viljandi and Tartu. However, you can take a train from Viljandi to a nearby station (e.g., Türi) and then transfer to a bus or another train to reach Tartu. Check the train schedules in advance for the best connections.
