From Lavumisa Border Post, head southeast on the main road towards Ingwavuma. Follow the signs towards Ingwavuma for about 25 kilometers. You will pass through a rural area, so be cautious of pedestrians and livestock. Upon reaching Ingwavuma, look for local signage indicating Mankonto Dam. The dam is approximately 5 kilometers from Ingwavuma center. Turn right at the signpost and follow the dirt road until you reach the dam. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for unpaved roads.
Public Transportation
To reach Mankonto Dam using public transport, start at the Lavumisa Border Post and take a taxi or minibus heading to Ingwavuma. The fare should be around E50 to E60 (Eswatini Lilangeni). Inform the driver of your destination, Mankonto Dam. Once you arrive in Ingwavuma, you can either hire a local taxi to take you the additional 5 kilometers to the dam or ask locals for directions if you prefer walking. If you choose to walk, be prepared for a rural path.
