Serenity in the Mountains: Mdzimba Mountain Lodge

Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Malkerns, head east on the main road towards Lobamba. Continue straight for about 2 kilometers until you reach the junction at the Lobamba entrance. At the junction, turn left onto the road leading to Lobamba. Keep walking for another 1.5 kilometers. You will see signposts for Mdzimba Mountain Lodge. Follow these signs, which will guide you toward a narrow path leading up the mountain. The lodge is located at J697+H5W, which is about 500 meters from the main road. Look for the entrance on your right.

• Bicycle

  Start from the main square in Malkerns and ride east on the main road toward Lobamba. After approximately 2 kilometers, you will come to a junction. Turn left at the junction onto the Lobamba road. Continue on this road for about 1.5 kilometers until you see the signposts indicating the direction to Mdzimba Mountain Lodge. Follow the road until you reach a narrow path that leads up the mountain, which is about 500 meters from the main road. The lodge is located at J697+H5W, on the right side of the path.

• Public Transport

  From Malkerns, catch a local minibus heading towards Lobamba. Ask the driver to drop you off at the Lobamba junction, which is about 2 kilometers from Malkerns. After disembarking, walk left for about 1.5 kilometers on the road leading to Lobamba. Look for signposts for Mdzimba Mountain Lodge. You will need to walk approximately 500 meters up a narrow path from the main road to reach the lodge, located at J697+H5W.
