If you are traveling by car from central Middleveld, head southeast on the main road towards the direction of Mlawula. Follow the signs for the N2 highway (also known as the MR3 road) and continue to drive for approximately 30 kilometers. You will pass through beautiful landscapes, and it is advisable to keep an eye out for road signs indicating Mlawula Nature Reserve. Once you see signs for the reserve, turn onto the access road which leads directly into the reserve. Ensure you take note of the opening hours as the reserve operates from 6 AM to 6 PM.
Public Transportation
To reach Mlawula Nature Reserve using public transport, first, take a bus or minibus taxi from Middleveld to the nearest town, which is Siteki. The fare should be around E20-30. From Siteki, you may need to hire a local taxi or arrange for a private vehicle to take you to Mlawula, as public transportation may not go directly to the reserve. This taxi ride will cost approximately E100-150. Make sure to communicate your destination clearly to the driver and confirm the fare beforehand.
