Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Mercato area, head northeast on Churchill Avenue towards the National Museum of Ethiopia. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Ras Bitwaddad Tesemma Avenue. Turn left onto Ras Bitwaddad Tesemma Avenue and walk straight. You will pass the Bole Medhane Alem Cathedral on your right. Keep walking until you reach the roundabout, then take the second exit onto Derg Monument Road. The Derg Monument will be on your left side.

    From Arada, find a minibus heading towards Lideta. Board the minibus and request to be dropped off at the Derg Monument stop. Once you get off, walk a short distance towards the monument. It should be visible as you approach the area.
