Walking
From the center of Addis Ababa, head north towards Meskel Square. Walk along Churchill Avenue until you reach the intersection with Bole Road. Continue walking straight past the National Museum of Ethiopia. After about 1.5 kilometers, you will reach the entrance of Gulele Botanical Garden. The garden is located a short distance from the main road, and you will see signs directing you to the garden.
Public Transport
Begin your journey at Meskel Square. Look for a blue and white minibus (known as a 'bajaj') heading towards Gulele. Board the bus and inform the driver that you want to go to Gulele Botanical Garden. The fare is usually around 10-15 Ethiopian Birr. The bus will drop you off at the nearest stop to the garden. From there, follow the signs to the entrance, which is a short walk away (approximately 10 minutes).
Bicycle
If you are comfortable riding a bicycle, you can rent one from a local shop in the city. Start from Meskel Square and ride north along Churchill Avenue, following the same route as pedestrians. Be cautious of traffic, especially at major intersections. After about 3 kilometers, you will arrive at Gulele Botanical Garden. There are bike racks available at the entrance for secure parking.
