Getting There

Walking
If you are starting from the Addis Ababa Mercato, head southwest on the main road towards the Lideta area. Continue walking for approximately 15-20 minutes until you reach the intersection of Haile Selassie Avenue. Turn left onto Haile Selassie Avenue and keep walking straight. After about 10 minutes, you will see a large roundabout. Imperial Square is located just past the roundabout on your right side. Look for the large open space and any signs indicating the square.

Starting from the National Museum of Ethiopia, exit the museum and walk towards the main road (Ras Makonnen St). Turn left and walk straight until you reach the intersection with Haile Selassie Avenue. Turn right and continue walking for about 15 minutes. You will reach a roundabout; Imperial Square will be just past this roundabout on your right.

From Meskel Square, walk north towards the main road. Take the road leading to the north side of Meskel Square, which becomes Haile Selassie Avenue. Walk straight for about 20 minutes. You will pass several shops and cafes along the way. When you reach the large roundabout, Imperial Square will be directly to your right after you cross the roundabout.
