Walking
From the center of Gondar, head east on the main road towards the Castle of Gondar. Continue straight until you reach the roundabout. Take the second exit to stay on the main road, which will lead you past the local market. Keep walking until you see a sign for Tara Gedam on your left. Turn left and follow this road until you reach ቋላ ዩሀንስ, which is located on this street. It should take you approximately 20-30 minutes to walk there.
Bicycle
If you prefer to cycle, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Gondar. Start at the city center and head towards the Castle of Gondar. From there, follow the same route as the walking instructions, taking the second exit at the roundabout. Continue past the local market and look for the Tara Gedam sign on your left. ቋላ ዩሀንስ will be along this road. This route is about 2.5 km and should take around 15-20 minutes by bike.
Local Transport (Bajaj)
To get to ቋላ ዩሀንስ using a Bajaj (three-wheeled taxi), find a Bajaj stand in the city center near the main market. Tell the driver you want to go to Tara Gedam. They will know the location. The ride should take about 10-15 minutes and costs around 20-30 Ethiopian Birr, depending on your negotiation skills.
