From the city of Harar, head southeast on the main road (A1) towards Babile. After approximately 42 kilometers, take the exit towards Babile town. Continue straight for about 10 kilometers, following signs for Babile Elephant Sanctuary. The sanctuary is located off the main road, and you may need to ask locals for the exact entrance as it can be slightly hidden.

From Harar, you can take a minibus (known locally as a 'bajaj' or 'hijab') heading to Babile. The minibuses leave from the main bus station in Harar. The journey will take about 1.5 hours. Once in Babile, you can hire a local taxi or tuk-tuk to take you to the entrance of the Babile Elephant Sanctuary, which is about 10 kilometers from the bus drop-off point.
