Follow the road until you arrive in the town of Wukro, which is about 5 kilometers from Mekele. As you enter Wukro, you will see a local market on your left. Continue straight through the town; the Genfel River is located just a short distance beyond the market. Look for the turn-off that leads toward the river, which is marked by a small path leading into a green area.

    From the center of Mekele, head to the main bus station (located near the city center). Look for a minibus heading to Wukro. The fare is quite affordable, typically around 10-20 Ethiopian Birr. The journey will take approximately 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Wukro, ask the driver or any local for directions to the Genfel River. It's a short walk from the bus stop. You will walk towards the local market, and from there, follow the small path leading to the river.
