Getting There

  • Private Car

    If you are driving from Addis Ababa towards Ziway, take the Ethiopian Highway 1 (A1) southbound. Follow the signs for Ziway, and after approximately 160 km, you will reach the town of Ziway. Once in Ziway, look for the signs to Lake Zway. Turn onto Off Road 7, which leads directly to Haile Resort. The resort is located just off this road, so keep an eye out for the signage.

  • Public Bus

    From Addis Ababa, you can take a public bus heading to Ziway. The buses leave from various terminals, such as the Mexico Square bus station. The journey to Ziway takes approximately 3 to 4 hours, and the fare is around 50 to 80 Ethiopian Birr (ETB). Once you arrive at the Ziway bus station, you can hire a local taxi (costing about 30 to 50 ETB) to take you to Haile Resort on Off Road 7, located near Lake Zway.

  • Shared Taxi

    If you prefer a faster option, you can take a shared taxi from Addis Ababa to Ziway. These taxis usually leave when they are full and may cost around 100 to 150 ETB per person. Upon arriving at the Ziway taxi station, you can take another shared taxi or a local taxi to Haile Resort, which should cost you about 30 to 50 ETB.
