From Gjógv, head south on the main road (Route 10) towards Lítla Dímun. Continue on Route 10 for approximately 2 kilometers until you reach a fork in the road. Take the left fork to stay on Route 10. Keep driving for another 5 kilometers, following the signs towards Hvannhagi. Eventually, you will see a small parking area on the right side, which serves as the starting point for the hike to Hvannhagi.
