Walking
From the center of Gøta, head southeast on the main road towards the ferry terminal. Walk along the water's edge, enjoying the views of the fjord. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with the road leading to the village of Leirvik. At this intersection, turn left and follow the road towards Leirvik. After about 1.5 kilometers, you will see a sign pointing towards Hvithamar. Continue straight on this road, which will lead you up into the hills. The path to Hvithamar is marked, and you will see trail signs indicating the direction. The hike will take approximately 30-45 minutes, depending on your pace and the weather conditions.
Bicycle
If you have rented a bicycle in Gøta, begin by cycling towards the ferry terminal, following the waterfront. Once you reach the intersection with the road to Leirvik, take a left turn. Continue cycling for about 1.5 kilometers until you see the sign for Hvithamar. At the sign, you will need to park your bicycle, as the final stretch to Hvithamar will require hiking. Follow the hiking trail marked from the parking area, which leads into the hills. The hike is moderately steep and will take approximately 30-45 minutes.
