From Húsavík, head west on Route 62 towards the town of Vestmanna. Continue on this road for approximately 40 km until you reach the intersection with Route 10. Turn left onto Route 10 and continue for about 15 km. You will then see signs for Hvannhagi. Follow the signs, and after a short drive, you will arrive at the Hvannhagi parking area. Note that there may be limited parking available, so arrive early if possible.

Start at the Húsavík bus station. Check the local bus schedule for the bus heading towards Vestmanna. The journey may take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, depending on the schedule. Get off at the designated stop for Hvannhagi. After getting off, it’s a short walk to the Hvannhagi site. Be sure to confirm the return bus times, as they may vary.

If you are staying near the center of Húsavík, you can consider walking to Hvannhagi, though it will be quite a trek. Head west on Route 62, following the same route you would take by car. It is about 55 km to the Hvannhagi area, which will take several hours to walk. Make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks, and wear appropriate footwear for the journey.
