From Klaksvík town center, head north on the main road (Route 1) towards the northern part of the island. After about 2.5 km, take the exit for Route 68 towards Viðareiði. Follow Route 68 for approximately 4 km until you reach a junction. Here, take a right turn onto a smaller road that leads to the Klakkur trailhead. Continue on this road for about 1 km, and you will find parking available near the trailhead at the coordinates 69GR+MC2.

Begin your journey at the main bus terminal in Klaksvík. Look for a bus heading towards Viðareiði. Buses generally run every hour, but be sure to check the local schedule as it may vary. After approximately 15 minutes, disembark at the stop closest to the Klakkur trailhead. From there, it is a short 1 km walk along the road to reach the trailhead at 69GR+MC2. Please note that bus fares vary, so keep some local currency handy.

If you are already in Klaksvík, you can walk to the Klakkur trailhead. Head northwest from the town center, following the signs towards Route 1. After about 1.5 km, you will reach the junction where you need to turn onto Route 68. Continue walking for another 4 km along Route 68 and then take the small road towards the trailhead, which is just 1 km from the junction. This scenic walk will lead you directly to the parking area at the coordinates 69GR+MC2.
