Car
If you are traveling by car, drive towards Trøllanes, which is the nearest village to Kallur Lighthouse. Start by heading to the main road in Koltur and follow the signs for 'Kalsoy'. Upon reaching the ferry terminal at Klaksvik, park your car and board the ferry to Kalsoy (be sure to check the ferry schedule in advance). The ferry ride takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the ferry terminal in Kalsoy, continue driving towards the village of Trøllanes. From Trøllanes, follow the hiking trail signs to Kallur Lighthouse. The trailhead is well-marked and it is about a 1.5-hour hike to the lighthouse, offering stunning views along the way.
Public Transportation
To reach Kallur Lighthouse using public transportation, you will first need to take a bus from Koltur to Klaksvik. Make sure to check the local bus schedule for times. After reaching Klaksvik, walk to the ferry terminal and purchase a ticket for the ferry to Kalsoy. The ferry ride lasts about 30 minutes. Upon arrival at Kalsoy, you can take a local bus or taxi to get to Trøllanes, or you can walk if you prefer. From Trøllanes, follow the marked hiking trail to Kallur Lighthouse. The hike takes approximately 1.5 hours.
