If you are driving, start from the main road in Koltur. Head northwest towards the ferry terminal. After approximately 1.5 kilometers, you will reach a junction. Turn left onto the road leading to Bordoy. Continue on this road for about 10 kilometers, passing through scenic landscapes. Follow the signs for Klaksvík, and keep an eye out for the signs for Klakkur trailhead. The trailhead is located at coordinates 62.2266° N, 6.6090° W, where you will find a small parking area.

Take a local bus from Koltur to Klaksvík, which operates several times a day. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Klaksvík bus station, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 kilometers to reach the Klakkur trailhead. Head northwest on the main road and follow the signs towards Klakkur. This route will take you through a residential area before entering the trailhead parking area.

If you prefer to walk from Koltur to the Klakkur trailhead, it is approximately a 10-kilometer trek. Begin at the center of Koltur and follow the paths that lead towards Bordoy.
