Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Kvívík, head west towards the coastline. Follow the path that runs parallel to the sea until you reach the Yviri við Strond road. Turn left onto Yviri við Strond. Continue walking along this road for approximately 1.5 km, enjoying the coastal views along the way. Skansin will be on your right, marked by a historical landmark sign. You will see the fortifications and can explore the area.

  • Bicycle

    If you have access to a bicycle, start from the center of Kvívík and ride westward towards the coastal road. Follow the bike path along the coastline until you reach Yviri við Strond. Turn left and continue for about 1.5 km. Skansin will be on your right. There are bike racks available for you to park your bicycle while you explore the site.

  • Public Transport

    Take the local bus from Kvívík to Tórshavn. Buses run regularly, and you can check the schedule at the local bus stop. Once you arrive in Tórshavn, get off at the stop closest to Yviri við Strond. From there, it's a short walk (about 10 minutes) to Skansin.
