    Getting There

    Walking

    From Kvívík, start by heading east towards the main road (Road 10). Follow this road north for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the junction with Road 1. At the junction, turn left and continue along Road 1 towards Tórshavn for approximately 3 kilometers. You will pass through some scenic landscapes. Once you reach the area near Tórshavn, look for signs directing you to the hiking trails leading to Svartafoss. Follow the signs towards the trailhead, which will take you up into the hills.

    Hiking

    Once you are at the trailhead, begin your hike towards Svartafoss Waterfall. The trail is well-marked and will lead you through beautiful terrain. The hike is approximately 2 kilometers each way and should take around 45 minutes to an hour one way, depending on your pace. As you approach the waterfall, listen for the sound of cascading water and keep an eye out for the stunning basalt columns that surround the falls. Take your time to enjoy the scenery along the way.
