    The final approach to Hvannhagi is primarily on foot, starting from the town of Tvøroyri. Begin at the hospital in Tvøroyri and walk up Sjúkrahúsbrekkan road. Just beyond the hospital, a pedestrian path leads left into a wooded area, which then joins the paved Ovari Vegur road. Follow the road for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you reach a gate with a sign for Hvannhagi. Pass through the pedestrian gate and follow the orange-marked posts along the hiking trail. The hike to Hvannhagi takes about 1 hour.

  • Public Transport

    To reach Tvøroyri, take the ferry Smyril from Tórshavn on Streymoy Island. The ferry departs several times a day, and the journey takes approximately 2 hours. A public transport card, costing 500 DKK for 4 days, covers both bus and ferry travel across the islands. Alternatively, a single ferry ticket may cost around 100 DKK. Upon arrival in Tvøroyri, the Hvannhagi trailhead is located above the hospital and is accessible by foot.
