Car
If you are driving in Norðoyar, head towards the town of Nólsoy. From the center of Norðoyar, take Route 10 towards Tórshavn. After about 24 km, follow the signs to the ferry terminal at Gamlarætt. Park your car in the designated parking area, as vehicles are not allowed on the ferry. Purchase a ticket for the ferry to Nólsoy, which costs approximately DKK 50 for a round trip. The ferry ride takes about 20 minutes.
Ferry
Once you arrive at Nólsoy, you can walk to Nólsoy Lighthouse (Nólsoyar viti). From the ferry terminal, follow the main road through the village. After about 700 meters, you will see a sign indicating the path to the lighthouse. The hike to the lighthouse is approximately 1.5 km and takes about 30 minutes. The trail is well-marked and offers scenic views along the way.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, take the bus from Tórshavn to Gamlarætt ferry terminal. Buses run regularly, and you can check the schedule for times. Once at the terminal, follow the same steps as above to purchase your ferry ticket and then walk to Nólsoy Lighthouse upon arrival.
