Driving
From Vágar Airport, head west on Route 22 towards Sørvágur. In Sørvágur, follow Route 45 towards Gásadalur. Drive through the one-lane Gásadalstunnilin tunnel (free of charge) to reach the village. Parking is available near the village. Be aware that the Vágar Tunnel connecting Vágar Island to Streymoy has a toll of 100 DKK for a round trip.
Public Transport
From Tórshavn or Vágar Airport, take bus route 300 to Sørvágur. Transfer to bus route 350 to Gásadalur. The bus will take you through the tunnel to the village. A multi-day travel card for buses and ferries is available for 500 DKK (4 days) or 700 DKK (7 days). Otherwise, individual bus fares apply.
Walking
For a challenging hike, take the old post route (The Postman's Trail) from Bøur to Gásadalur. Be prepared for a steep and slippery trail with loose rocks. This route was the only access to Gásadalur before the tunnel was built. Guided tours are available.
