Car
If you are driving a car, start from the main village of Skúvoy and head towards the ferry terminal. From Skúvoy, take the ferry to Sandavágur, which typically runs several times a day. The ferry ride lasts about 30 minutes. Upon arriving at Sandavágur, follow signs to the main road (Route 11) leading toward Sørvágur. After approximately 10 minutes of driving, you will reach the parking area near the start of the hiking trail to Bøsdalafossur Waterfall. Ensure to check ferry schedules in advance as they can vary.
Public Transportation (Ferry)
To reach Bøsdalafossur Waterfall using public transportation, begin your journey at the local bus stop in Skúvoy and take a bus to the ferry terminal. Board the ferry service to Sandavágur. Once you arrive at Sandavágur, you can either walk to the trailhead (about a 20-minute walk) or catch a local taxi to the start of the hiking trail. The hike from the trailhead to the waterfall is approximately 1.5 kilometers and takes about 30-45 minutes. Please ensure to bring some snacks and water for the hike.
Walking
If you prefer to hike, you can walk directly from the village of Skúvoy to the ferry terminal, which takes about 15-20 minutes. After taking the ferry to Sandavágur and reaching the parking area, start your hike from the designated trailhead. Follow the marked path that leads to Bøsdalafossur Waterfall. The total hiking time from the parking area is around 30-45 minutes, depending on your pace.
